Follow these Tips to Clean Your Home’s Siding

The spring season is a great time to clean your home’s siding. While this may not be the most exciting DIY project, it’s one that can improve the curb appeal of your property. Furthermore, it can extend the life of your siding.

Here are a few tips for getting started:

1. Start with Water and Soap

You don’t need anything special to clean your home’s siding. Instead a warm bucket of water and regular dish soap will put you on the right track.

Tip: keep a hose handy, as you’ll need to refill your bucket from time to time. You’ll also want to spray your siding when complete to make sure all the soap residue has been removed.

2. Take it Slow

Rather than take a big picture approach, work in small 5 or 10 foot sections. This allows you to focus on the task at hand without becoming overwhelmed. Furthermore, it helps ensure that you don’t miss a spot.

3. Be Careful

If you have a two story home, it goes without saying that you’ll need to use a ladder at times. When doing so, safety always comes first.

If you find that your siding is damaged, if you find that you can’t remove all the grime, it may be time for a change. Don’t hesitate to contact us to discuss your siding project, to ask questions, and to receive professional advice.
