Is your Roof Ready for Spring? Evaluate its Condition

Mar 25, 2015

Spring is finally here. The snow is in the past, and warmer weather is on its way. While there will be plenty of sunshine, don’t overlook the fact that the spring months are always full of rain.

Is your roof in condition to hold up to everything the spring season brings its way? Now is the time to evaluate the condition of your roof, especially if you have reason to believe it may be in need of repair.

Here are three things to look for:

1. Interior leaks. If something has gone wrong with your roof (or maybe even your skylight) over the winter months, it could lead to an interior leak. It doesn’t matter how big or small the leak may be, don’t wait to address the problem. It will only get worse over time.

2. Missing shingles. Heavy snow and wind during the winter could have blown one or more shingle off your roof. This isn’t a big deal, as long as you have the shingles replaced without delay.

3. Deteriorating shingles. Over time, even the highest quality shingles will begin to deteriorate. You may notice shingle granules in your gutter or collecting at the bottom of your downspouts. The sooner you replace these shingles the less chance there is that your problem will worsen.

These are just a few of the many things to keep your eyes on, regarding your roof, as the weather turns. Regardless of if you require service or simply want us to inspect your roof, we are here to help.
