Top Tips for Lowering Your Water Bill

During the winter months, many homeowners turn their attention to lowering their heating bill. While there’s nothing wrong with this, don’t lose sight of the fact that you can do the same with your water bill.

Here are five tips to follow:

·      Use your dishwasher. When you wash dishes by hand, you consume more water. This may be hard to believe, but it’s true. Use your dishwasher as often as possible.

·      Fix any plumbing leaks. If you’re aware of any plumbing leak, even if it’s a toilet that won’t stop running, take care of it without delay.

·      Insulate water pipes. This is a great tip to follow during the cold winter months.

·      Don’t leave the water running when shaving or brushing your teeth. Easy enough, right?

·      Limit the time you spend in the shower. A warm shower feels good during the cold winter months, but too many of these will have a negative impact on your water bill.

What are your thoughts on these tips? Have you followed any of these in the past?

If you get on board with these five ideas, it won’t be long before you realize that your water bill isn’t nearly as high as it used to be.
