What To Do If You Find a Roof Leak

What To Do If You Find a Roof Leak

Jul 29, 2015

No matter how well you take care of your house, there is always the chance something could go wrong. For example, your roof could begin to leak at some point.

If you come to the conclusion that your roof is leaking, you don’t want to wait too long to find a solution. After all, water is getting into your home and that is never a good thing.

Here are three simple steps to take if you find a roof leak:

1. Pinpoint the problem. You may be able to do this on your own. If not, contact us to discuss your options for repair. We are more than happy to inspect your roof to determine what is going on.

2. Contact your insurance company. You don’t have to do this, but it is something to consider. It makes sense to learn more about the cause before contacting your insurer. If a section of your roof was blown off in a storm, you should consult with your insurance company. If you are simply missing a shingle, this may not be necessary.

3. Opt for a permanent fix. As a homeowner, you may be able to patch the problem for the time being. The problem with this is simple: the issue is likely to come back soon enough.

If you find a roof leak, don’t wait another minute to put an end to this problem. We are here to help at all times. Once we are on your roof, you can be rest assured the leak will disappear for good.
