It lasts from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m., rain or shine, and will feature live music, a beer garden, local artists, restaurant vendors, lots of activities for kids, and much more.
The Greater Merrifield Business Association (GMBA) has announced that Betsy Pond, Chair, Board of Directors, Pond Roofing and Exteriors, has become a member of its board of directors.
GMBA is a non-profit organization formed in 1984 dedicated to bringing together businesses in the Greater Merrifield area to promote better land use, transportation and general economic development. GMBA works closely with its public officials to make them aware of the needs of the area. GMBA also works with closely with local chambers of commerce, provides a networking base, and is a community advocate and supporter of several non-profit initiatives.
GMBA hosts monthly luncheons and/or casual networking opportunities. Speakers for these events are chosen to inform and educate its members, especially on areas of concern in this expanding area. Each year, GMBA offers a Music and Art in the Park Program which is a free concert series held at the Merrifield Park. It also organizes the Merrifield Fall Festival that includes activities for the entire family. GMBA will be hosting a party in October to celebrate its 30th birthday.
Betsy’s duties as a member of the GMBA Board will include acting as its representative to the Alliance Legislative Committee, whose members include the Falls Church Chamber of Commerce, the Vienna Business Association, the Tysons Regional Chamber of Commerce, and the Asian American Chamber of Commerce. She will also be involved in any legislative items that may affect Greater Merrifield. Betsy will also serve as the Event Chair for GMBA’s lunch meetings and mixers.
Betsy has been a long-time member and supporter of GMBA and looks forward to promoting and expanding its presence in the Northern Virginia circle of professionals.
