The most common sign of a broken window seal is moisture between the two layers of glass. At first, you may think you can wipe it away, but you soon realize it’s between the glass and not on the surface. You may also notice small beads of water forming in the corners.

How does it Happen?

The nice thing about windows with two or more panes of glass is that they insulate your home better. However, if one of the seals breaks, moisture will slowly make its way to the inside.

While new windows don’t typically have a broken seal, this can happen over time as the result of the deterioration of rubber.

Is it a Problem?

Not only does a broken window seal look bad, but it also improves the likelihood that outside air will enter your home. Conversely, your home is not nearly as energy efficient as it once was, thus increasing your heating and cooling bills.
