How to Prevent Frost on Your Windows

Jan 08, 2021

Frost on your windows on a cold winter morning may appear majestic, but it’s actually a problem that you need to deal with immediately.

Should you realize that this is a regular occurrence, it’s time to pinpoint the cause and take action. Here are some of the steps you can take to prevent frost on your windows in the future:

•    Use a dehumidifier: The problem with this is that you may be running a humidifier to add moisture to your air during the dry winter months. Consider if you can use a dehumidifier in certain areas of your home to reduce the risk of frost on your windows.

•    Weatherize your windows: For example, caulk any gaps to prevent cold air from sneaking in.

•    Keep your home warm: Rather than give frost the chance to form, keep your house warm so this doesn’t happen.

Should the above actions fail, it may be time to consider replacement windows. New windows may be just what you need to prevent frost, keep your home warm, and save money on your heating bill.
