The Benefits of Window Screens

The Benefits of Window Screens

Aug 05, 2015

Are you in the process of pricing new windows for your home? If so, you may want to do the same for screens. While these are not required, and some people rarely use them, it is something to consider nonetheless.

Here are some of the many benefits associated with the use of window screens:

1. Lower the cost to cool your home. Rather than use your air conditioner every time the temperature heats up, you can open the windows and turn on ceiling fans. This will give you a nice breeze that cools your home.

2. Let the air in, keep the bugs out. If you open your windows, but don’t have screens, there is no denying that bugs will make their way inside at some point. Is this something you want to deal with? Sure, you will get a nice breeze, but the tradeoff is flies, bees, and other types of bugs entering your living space.

Note: screens keep out debris as well.

3. Reduces sunlight. Did you know that some window screens are designed to reduce sunlight and heat gain? Not only does this lower your cooling costs, but it also helps reduce sun damage to floors and furnishings.

With so many benefits of window screens, it is something to consider no matter if you are buying new windows or are happy with those that are currently installed.
