What to do if Your Windows are Letting in Hot Air

What to do if Your Windows are Letting in Hot Air

May 28, 2020

During the hot summer months, you want nothing more than to be able to retreat to your cool home to relax. Unfortunately, this is easier said than done if your windows aren’t doing its job.

If your windows are letting in hot air, here’s what you should do:

•    Make sure they’re closed and locked: For example, you may have forgotten to completely close a window, which is letting a little bit of hot air creep into your living space.

•    Detect the leak: Once your windows are closed, search for the source of the hot air leak. You may find that there’s a simple solution, such as re-caulking around the window.

•    Opt for replacement windows: Yes, it’s a big project. However, once you swap out your old windows for new ones, you no longer have to concern yourself with this. You can be rest assured that the hot air will stay outside, allowing you to relax in your cool home.

If your windows are letting in hot air, don’t wait to take action. Not only will it improve the comfort of your home, but it’ll also lower your cooling bill. It’s a true win-win!
