Working in the Yard? Follow these Safety Tips
Jun 20, 2018Now that warmer weather is here to stay for quite some time, there’s a good chance you’ll find yourself working outdoors on a regular basis.
From mowing the lawn to trimming bushes, there’s always another project on your to-do list.
While there’s nothing wrong with working hard in your yard, don’t overlook the importance of your safety and well being.
Here are a handful of safety tips to follow:
· Use proper lifting technique. For example, if you’re lifting bags of dirt or mulch, proper technique is a must. If you don’t pay attention to what you’re doing, it could result in a serious back or neck injury (among others).
· Watch the heat. Even if you enjoy the warm weather, don’t lose sight of the fact that it can quickly take a toll on your body. Stay hydrated, take breaks, and don’t push yourself too hard.
· Think about safety when using tools. Power tools, for instance, can be extremely dangerous if used in the wrong manner.
Your good time working outdoors can turn sour in no time at all if you suffer an injury or illness. For this reason, you should always follow these safety tips.
