Is Your Siding Damaged?
May 21, 2020Just like any other part of your home, its siding is susceptible to wear and tear as time goes on. If you notice any damage, it’s important to dig deeper to uncover the extent of it. This will allow you to make an informed decision as to what you should do next.
Generally speaking, you only have a few options available to you:
• Replace all your siding: If your siding has seen better days, it may be time to replace all of it and start fresh. Yes, it’s a big project, but you’ll be glad that you took it on once it’s complete.
• Replace a portion of the siding: For example, if you only have a few rows of siding that’s damaged, you could replace just that. This is often the best approach if your home’s siding doesn’t need replaced just yet.
• Make a repair: This depends largely on the type of siding and type of damage. For example, if you have wood siding with a hole in it, you may be able to patch and paint for a short-term solution.
If your siding is damaged, it could result in even more problems down the road. So, rather than turn a blind eye and hope for the best, consider the options available to you and then take action.
