How to Prepare Your Lawn for Fall
Now that summer is in the past and fall is here, it’s time adjust the way you care for your lawn.
There are many ways to prepare your lawn for the months to come, with these tips among the most important:
· Keep mowing: It may be getting cooler, but that doesn’t mean your grass will stop growing. Continue to mow and water as necessary. You should be able to do this less as the fall months wear on, thanks to cooler temperatures and more rain.
· Rake up any leaves: Don’t let leaves linger on your lawn for too long, as they can kill the grass (and drag down the curb appeal of your home). It’s especially important that you rake up all leaves before winter hits.
· Fertilize for the future: The way you care for your lawn during the fall months will impact how it looks during the spring months. Be sure to get in one last feeding before winter arrives.
If you take these steps during the fall months, you don’t have to worry about doing anything that will compromise the health of your lawn.
