Protecting Your Landscaping During Roof Replacement

You need a new roof, and you have spent years of time and expense on your landscaping and are naturally worried about what will happen to it during the roofing process.

Roofing is a messy job. On our contract and on the Checklist we send out that tells you what you should do to prep for the job, we advise customers to move all lawn furniture and patio plants away from the house. Our crews are happy to assist in this removal if asked. The crews try to get the dump truck as close to your house as possible so that during the tear off, they can throw the old shingles directly into the truck. It is possible, during cooler weather, to put tarps up from the gutter line to avoid hitting any shrubbery next to the house. We like to avoid that when possible because the plants are unable to breath, and during hot weather, in particular, the plants can burn if covered.

We also ask our homeowners to keep the drive way empty while the work is in progress. We also ask that you mark any underground sprinkler heads.

Our goal is to leave your yard as spotless as possible. Consider the job that’s being done: we do want to avoid any damage to your landscaping as possible, but please let us know if you need assistance in preparing for the job.
