As we gather together with friends and family to celebrate this favorite holiday, pause for a moment and consider that every day nearly 90,000 people are without food in Northern Virginia, one of the richest areas in our nation.
SPOTLIGHT: FOOD FOR OTHERS
Food For Others, located at 2938 Prosperity Avenue in Fairfax, VA. (across from the Merrifield Post Office), is a food warehouse distribution center that feeds families in Northern Virginia who meet U.S. government guidelines to be eligible to receive USDA food supplements. It also distributes free emergency food to people who are referred by social service providers in the area.
