Try These Tips for Preventing Carpenter Bees
Depending on the material used on the exterior of your home, there’s a chance that carpenter bees could become a problem for you at some point in the future.
While dealing with these insects is a pain the neck, there are some simple steps you can take to eliminate the problem once and for all. Try the following:
· Stuff the holes. Carpenter bees burrow into wood surfaces, so the best thing you can do is plug these up as soon as possible. Use wood plugs or steel wool to do so. Also, take your time to ensure that you treat every hole.
· Paint or stain wooden surfaces. By doing this, you discourage carpenter bees from attacking your home.
· Spray the area. In addition to products you can purchase online or at your local home improvement store, you can also use tea tree oil or citrus spray to deter these pesky insects. Once you find something that works, treat your entire home as to keep the bees from simply moving to another area.
The second you notice carpenter bees swarming around your home is the second you should take action. The longer you wait the more damage they’ll cause.
